"Twenty-five percent (or sixty-seven) of the marriages that took place between 1759 and 1769 (when marriage registers survive) involved two slaves. Baptismal registers from 1744–1759 flesh out the record, showing that more than 12 percent of enslaved children (397) were born to parents married in the church. Even more notable, all of these marriages appear to have united slaves belonging to the same owner, despite baptismal records attesting to births from relationships that were not coresidential." - Sophie White, Voices of the Enslaved
